Introduction of
Titanium Dioxide
Titanium dioxide is the most widely used white pigment because of its brightness and very high refractive index (n = 2.7), Ti02 is also an effective opacifier in powder form, where it is employed as a pigment to provide whiteness and opacityto products such as paints, coatings, plastics, papers, inks, foods, medicines Cl.e. pills and tablets) as well as most toothpastes.
Characteristics
Rutile-Type Titanium dioxide can be used for paint with high opacity and inactive optical property due to very stable cristal physically and chemically. It has excellent optical performance, high whiteness, lightness and gloss, strong color reducing power, hiding power, good dispersible properties and super durability.

Application
Foams of PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) incorporated with blowing agent are insulation tube, synthetic leather, sandal, wall coverings, floor coverings and so on.

Characteristics
Anatase-Type TiO2 is less hard (5.5–6 vs. 6-6.5 Mohs) and dense (specific gravity about 3.9 vs. 4.2) compare to rutile Type of TiO2. Also, anatase is optically negative whereas rutile is positive, and its luster is even more strongly adamantine or metallic-adamantine than that of rutile.

Application
Used as white pigment in the paper-making industry, paint, toothpaste, plastic industry and rubber. And it also used as a material in TV, a cathode-ray tube, electronic condenser, electronic parts, photocatalysis, PET reaction as a catalyst.
